Thanks for the feedback, Regina. It's true, these are meant to be basic reminders that all serious job seekers should (hopefully) know by now. But knowing and actually doing are two different things, and this post is meant to be a call to action.

Of course we all know not to apply to jobs we're not qualified for or to tailor each application to the specific job, but we don't do it every single time. How many times do we omit one or more of the things on the list, because we're tired or it's inconvenient, or we feel it won't make a difference just this once. When it comes to applying to dozens of jobs each week, it's easy to let some of these things slide...but if you're truly aiming to be efficient in your job search, you CANNOT afford to let any of these things slide.

So job seekers - do these ten things for EVERY SINGLE JOB you apply for.

Excellent plan, but most job seekers, I hope, already know these. These are basics.

People really don't write "thank you" notes after interviews or get their resumes reviewed or rewritten, if need be?

Of course, I tailor my cover letters to each job as it's obvious when you don't.

I was hoping for more substantial advice because, at this point in the game, most job seekers know these.
